You'll get a 12-digit activation code within 10 days of enrolling for a new online service, or 21 days if you live abroad.
If you lose your code within 28 days of enrolling, sign in to HMRC online services and ask for a new code.
You can get a new activation code if you do not receive it or you lose it.
Steps to follow:
• Log in to the Government Gateway with your User ID and password or digital certificate.
• On your Services List, under 'Action' select 'Activate' against the relevant service.
• Select 'Request a new activation code'.
• You will receive a new activation code by post within 7 days.
